DateKnight is a product of Socialogic, a sole trader business registered in Australia (ABN 94345881), based in Brisbane, Queensland. We build technology that helps people live more intentionally and connect with the people who matter to them.

For all privacy-related matters, the data controller is Simon Backhouse, operating as Socialogic.

2 Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the app.

Information you provide:

• Your name, email address, and profile photo when you create an account
• Your partner's and friends' details when you add them to your Circle
• Sitter information you enter, including names, contact numbers, and rates
• Date preferences, venue selections, and event details you create
• Payment information processed via Stripe (we do not store card details directly)
• Feedback and communications you send to us

Information collected automatically:

• Device information (device type, operating system, unique device identifiers)
• App usage data (screens visited, features used, session duration)
• Crash reports and performance data
• IP address and general location (city/region level)

3 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the DateKnight app and its features
• Coordinate date planning, sitter matching, and group invitations on your behalf
• Process payments and payouts via Stripe Connect
• Send SMS bid requests to sitters when you confirm a date
• Send you notifications about your dates, RSVPs, and sitter confirmations
• Respond to your support requests and feedback
• Analyse usage patterns to improve product features and user experience
• Comply with legal obligations

4 Sharing Your Information

We only share your information in the following limited circumstances:

• With people in your Circle — when you invite someone to a date, relevant event details are shared with them through the app
• With sitters — when a date is confirmed, sitters on your list receive an SMS with the date details required to respond to your bid
• With venue partners — booking details (party name, size, date, time) are shared with venues you book through DateKnight
• With Stripe — payment information is processed by Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy)
• With service providers — we use trusted third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, and app infrastructure, who are bound by confidentiality obligations
• As required by law — if required by Australian law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users

5 Payments & Stripe

DateKnight uses Stripe Connect to process all payments, including pool billing and venue payouts. When you make or receive a payment through DateKnight:

• Your payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe
• DateKnight does not store your full card number, CVV, or bank account details
• Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy
• Stripe is compliant with PCI DSS and applicable Australian financial regulations

6 Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

• Data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
• Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel only
• We regularly review our security practices

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your DateKnight account.

7 Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account:

• Your profile and Circle data will be deleted within 30 days
• Transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by Australian tax law
• Anonymised, aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely

8 Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal obligations)
• Opt out of non-essential communications
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)

9 Children's Privacy

DateKnight is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Information about children in your care (such as babysitting arrangements) is entered by you as the account holder and is used solely to facilitate sitter coordination within the app.

10 Third-Party Services

DateKnight may integrate with or link to third-party services. This policy does not cover the privacy practices of those services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use in connection with DateKnight, including:

• Stripe (payments) — stripe.com/privacy
• Apple TestFlight (beta distribution) — apple.com/legal/privacy

11 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify you via the app or email if the changes are material.

Your continued use of DateKnight after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
